The Importance of back work in PR

                                                                         Tow #3

The importance of doing back work in PR campaign plays a great role in the success of a campaign. The ketchum's strategic information planning model encourages PR professionals to ask and determine answers to key factors about facts:what the current industry tends, the competitors, their competitive strengths.
goals:what are the company's business objectives? the time frame/ duration.Audiences: who are the target audience, their idea about the product, how well the product will fit into their everyday life and be receive. key message:a key message should be convey to reach the target audience and catch their attention.

public relations practitioners also have to put in place, the four information gathering processes before proceeding to the tactic in the form of 1, Research 2, Assessment 3,communication 4, evaluation

when all the above information  are well put together, there will be enough information to proceed with a campaign and the information will create a clear objective, the aim of the campaign. The target audience, their concerns, values and interests.
If the PR basic communication rules are not followed that may result in a huge backlash for a company by ruin their reputation or may result to a large loss, and  public dispute and campaign failure.

Below is a perfect example of a cmpaign that back work was not done before it was launch. The Huggies campaign,it raised a large amount of nagative tention among Dads/fathers as they claim the campaign made dads look stupid instead of being responsible fathers, and resulted in a large public outrage through social media.Huggies immediately had to  cancel the campaign, brought down the Facebook video and made an immediate public apology.

"Huggies flunks dad test, alters campaign,'we're not idiots, we are FATHERS"
